Therapeutic Botox injections

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a medicine injected into tight muscles to help them relax. This can help with limb spasticity, cervical dystonia and chronic migraines to prevent contractures, reduce pain, assist with body positioning, or assist in the management of chronic migraines.

First, an evaluation is performed to discuss treatment goals and design your personalized injection plan.

When treating tight muscles as in spasticity, differences should be noticed after a few days to a few weeks. In chronic migraine, response time is variable and two injection cycles may be needed before improvement is noted.

To prevent from becoming resistant to the medication, these injections MUST be performed after 3 months from your most recent injection.
